Sunshine and Sixties
The weather has changed for the better. We are positively reveling in the Spring air. A 60 degree day will put us in shirtsleeves and bring out the giddiness in us and the dogs. We have outfitted ourselves with new kayaks and continue to enjoy this beautiful state and all that it has to offer.
Our farmers market has returned to the fields of Granite Farm which is not as convenient but is a Saturday ritual. I think this week I will take pictures so you can see how nice it all is.
The garden patch has gone in and I have rebuilt a perennial garden outside the kitchen door. One of my fondest memories is the lupines and delphiniums in the gardens of Maine so of course I have had to put those in my garden. Will is delighted with the quality of his dirt and that makes for a happier soul.
We have been going to Florida to look after Will's mother who is advancing in Alzheimer's, a strange and depressing disease. It is an odd juxtaposition to go down there and have half the world playing partying and we are doing business and adult responsibilities.
Upcoming trips include Mark's graduation out in Berkeley[so hard to believe he is grown up and about to go off and make his own life. His first stop- a return to the diving in Thailand] and then we are off with the family to Ireland, Spain and Portugal, thanks to the cheap fares of Aerlingus. Can't wait! That will be some blog material, I'm sure.
Cassie found a porcupine again. Not as bad as the first time, but I suspect she is one of those dogs that just will not learn. It is very frustrating and although she is very sad when it happens you can see her nose going all the time with the lust of the hunt.
